Spend any amount of time in Texoma, and you’ll quickly become familiar with the names and faces that help shape this community. One of those familiar faces belongs to lifelong Texoma resident Taylor Grice.
At just 30 years old, Grice is leading a new generation of entrepreneurs and business owners who are bringing fresh ideas, creativity, and determination to the region. As the owner of Taylor’d Apparel, one of Texoma’s leading custom branded apparel companies, she has built a business rooted in quality, relationships, and community connection.
Grice recently shared her journey as a young business owner, the lessons she has learned along the way, and the importance of building a brand with purpose.
“I think it helps to have a connection to the community,” says Grice. “I have roots here. I attended Sherman High School. Fun fact: I was actually Sherman High School’s mascot my junior year.”
That deep connection to Texoma, along with the support of her family, has played a significant role in her success. Her husband, Christopher, a Veteran, has been one of her biggest supporters and was even the person who came up with the name Taylor’d Apparel.
“In the beginning, he really helped me get started,” says Grice. “Then I took over and built it into what it is today.”
Grice’s entrepreneurial mindset began developing early. After graduating from Kansas State University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Marketing and a minor in leadership studies, she explored her passion for fashion, retail, and business development.
“Growing up, I was always into fashion,” says Grice. “I had an opportunity to work for a local company focused on retail and e-commerce, and I just fell in love with it. The sales aspect and the business development side really interested me. I wanted to learn more, so I explored every opportunity I could.”
Through those experiences, Grice discovered that she wasn’t simply selling products; she was learning how branding influences customer connections and purchasing decisions. She also recognized a growing demand for customized apparel and merchandise that went beyond simply placing a logo on a shirt.
“It was more than just slapping a logo on a shirt and calling it a day,” says Grice. “I saw an opportunity to create something more elevated and focused on branding.”
Taylor’d Apparel launched online in 2023, and by February 2024, the company moved into its current Sherman location. Through plenty of trial and error, Grice refined her vision and expanded the company into a full-service branded merchandise provider.
Today, Taylor’d Apparel offers custom embroidery, printing, promotional products, signage, laser engraving, and corporate apparel. The company is also home to the only six-head embroidery machine in Grayson County, allowing them to take on larger-scale orders that many smaller operations cannot accommodate.
Local clients include Texoma FC, the Sherman ShadowCats, and the Sherman Fire Department.
“We believe great branding builds confidence,” says Grice. “Our company motto is, ‘Branding Your Legacy Starts Here.’”
For Grice, success as a business owner is about more than growth. It’s also about giving back to the community that helped support her journey.
“I think it is important to be involved in the community,” says Grice. “I currently serve on the Sherman Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, the Charlie Willie Foundation, and the Junior League of Grayson County board.”
Through these organizations, Grice continues to grow as a leader while helping strengthen the community around her.
“So many people have supported me and encouraged me, but I want to be that person for other new business owners as well,” says Grice. “I know how hard it is to get started and find success. I know what local small businesses go through, so I want to support them however I can.”
With a passion for entrepreneurship, a commitment to community, and a vision for the future, Taylor Grice represents the next generation of Texoma business leaders—one custom creation at a time.
