Service and sisterhood are the cornerstones of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.® Phi Phi Omega Chapter, as two dozen members volunteered at the second annual Spring Recycling Event at the Innovation Academy in Alpharetta.
As part of the sorority’s international program initiative, Enhance Our Environment, the goal was to reduce the volume of waste headed to our local dump sites. Area residents dropped off papers and magazines for shredding and donated gently used shoes and clothing. Fifty-one cars drove through to donate:

248 pairs of shoes

75 bags/boxes of clothing and shoes (approximately 2,250 items)

2,500 pounds of paper that was shredded
The partners were RAM Shredding, Soles4Souls and Community Assistance Center (CAC).
