Local mom and real estate broker Cara Erdman has made being thankful a daily practice. After getting the idea from a book about 15 years ago, Erdman finally decided to take the plunge and commit to writing one thank you note each day. Actual, physical, thank you cards which she decorates with a personalized drawing. She sends them to people that have meant something to her over the years, or someone that made a difference for her on just one day. “It’s not easy every day, but I love that it gives me a chance to touch people in a way that’s deeper than surface level,” Erdman says. At the time Bellevue Lifestyle spoke with her, she was on note #331 out of 365, and will have completed her year commitment when this issue comes out. Asked about how this project has affected her, she says, “I’ve been on the receiving end and know how great it feels to read nice words about yourself. It’s a real mood-lifter.”
