Carly Whiteside—Owner
I'm thankful for my daughter, my boyfriend, and my success of my firm. Going into year four of the firm there is a great team of women who get along well and support each other. We don't have a lot of traditions but we've been spending the past couple of years heading out to California to cook Thanksgiving for my grandmother. It's been honoring to cook for her now after she has spent most of her life handling Thanksgiving for the whole family.
Jennifer Putnam Ooms—Litigation Partner
I'm thankful for being at Copper Wren Law. I get to prioritize my daughters and I'm surrounded by women where we can wisdom swap as we all raise our kids. I've been in litigation for twenty-six years and this is the best employment experience I've had. I love being able to handle complex litigation and help people. We host our entire family for the holidays, including extended family throughout Arizona. Everybody shows up, gets together and I love showing my girls what it's like to have family around and how it's important. My boyfriend helps with hosting duties and I'm thankful for that and for him.
Emily Benisek—Associate Attorney
I'm thankful for my family, especially my sister. She's my best friend and I've loved watching her grow, she just started law school! I'm thankful for the women I get to work with, I'm fresh into my law career and I'm thankful to be at Copper Wren. My favorite tradition is getting together with my mom and my sister on Christmas Eve to make Christmas cookies. Afterwards, we get to enjoy all the cookies we made.
Ashleigh Hope—Compliance Counsel
There's a lot to be thankful for—a healthy kid, my husband, the weather cooling down and being an attorney for a decade. I'm thankful for this firm, where employee well-being is emphasized—which is a first for me. My favorite tradition is a new one for me—my husband is really into Halloween so I've been learning how to celebrate a holiday I used to ignore. We have a Halloween tree that gets decorated with spooky decorations.
April—Client Intake
I'm thankful for my family—my husband (married eighteen years!) and our three daughters. I am thankful for a job that supports lifestyle and family and is able to help people. It's a win-win all around. This year we are starting a new tradition, every one in my family will pick something to make for Thanksgiving. Everybody will be making their favorite dish and all hands will be involved in food preparation.
