Thanksgiving helps us focus on blessings as a community. This season is a perfect time to reflect on the benefits of thankfulness and cultivate routines of gratitude, such as:
*Gratitude journals – List people, events, places and resources for which you feel grateful.
*Success logs – Reflect daily on accomplishments, something you did well.
*Give thank you messages – spoken, texted, handwritten on a note, or posted online.
These thankfulness routines recognize personal blessings, personal contributions and the contributions of others. This mindfulness of blessings and contributions builds resilient contentment. Resilient contentment combined with hope for the future energizes.
Thankfulness improves physical and mental health while increasing productivity. Mindfulness of well-being, limits fear which may otherwise impair or paralyze. Anxiety triggers the body’s fight or flight response, redirecting the body’s resources away from the brain and nourishment systems. Over time, the body and mind suffer from unrelenting stress.
Gratitude increases mental clarity, encouraging the body’s restorative responses. Facing challenges, counting blessings helps to move forward by identifying available resources to address challenges. Contentment attracts positive people. Appreciation encourages continued kindness and connection.
A wealth manager can work to help clients build stamina to pursue their goals. Identifying personal values and concepts of well-being, comfort and abundance defines wealth for the individual to enable savers to channel resources effectively. Confidence in their financial plan allows clients to enjoy the journey.
I am grateful to God for so many blessings. This month, my loving husband Philip and I celebrate 45 years of marriage. I am pictured wearing the lovely Cabi coat he gave me as his anniversary gift. Our sons are a constant source of joy for us. These photos share the stunning 1977 Grumman 2 seater airplane owned by our son Clinton and his beautiful wife Carol, kept at the Gainesville Regional Airport.
Happy Thanksgiving!
