Every opportunity we get, we pause to thank people in our community who make giving a priority. And during this month of Thanksgiving, we put our hands together and thank these Lifestyle Publications Givers.
Michael Gordy
Michael is a current volunteer board member with the Alpharetta Chamber of Commerce. He is Sergeant at Arms in the Rotary Club of Alpharetta where he also sits on the board and helped to raise over $150,000 for the Mayor’s Corporate Challenge. Additionally, he helped raise $40,000 for the first annual polar bear plunge with the proceeds benefiting Alpharetta public safety department. He is an Alpharetta resident and Financial Representative with COUNTRY Financial.
Dr. Sandra Vargas
Together We Smile is a 501c3 nonprofit organization, established by Dr. Sandra Vargas and her husband John Jennings, whose mission is to provide help for those struggling for basic life needs in impoverished communities in Colombia and other areas of South America. Dr. Vargas is a partner at North Atlanta Family Dentistry.
Frank Bealer
He serves with a nonprofit called Orange who has a program called For Our Neighbors (based out of Cumming, GA) that creates resources and experiences for families in underserved communities. Frank is the CEO, Phase Family Center in Alpharetta.
Ebony Williams
Ebony works with girls who participate Girls on the Run’s Heart & Sole after school, setting boundaries, building character and helping them loving themselves. The program promotes healthy habits and exercise focusing on the “whole” child. They work on these skills for 12 weeks, each semester and participate in a 5k at the end of the season. During the holidays, she and her kids work with their church cooking meals for families in need. She is a special education reading teacher in the eighth grade at Hopewell Middle School and lives in Milton.
Michelle Cline
Michelle is the founder and CEO of Dream Champions, a nonprofit organization that works through schools to make sports dreams come true for children with disabilities. She lives in Canton, and works with schools all over the Atlanta metro area and is the Center Director for Sylvan Learning of Alpharetta.
