Some say, in Greek mythology, strawberries were created when Aphrodite wept for losing her love, Adonis.

Others say the strawberry is a symbol for Venus, the Goddess of Love, because of its heart shape and red color.

Strawberries are absolutely associated with modern Valentine's Day goodies, whether dipped in luxurious white, dark or milk chocolate, or blended into or as a garnish on a yummy, decadent cocktail.

Here's one recipe to make your sweetie this Valentine's Day!

The Aphrodite

Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz. - Absolut Vanilia Vanilla-Flavored Vodka
  • 0.75 oz. - Baileys Original Irish Cream
  • 0.75 oz. - De Kuyper Créme de Cacao
  • 0.75 oz. - Monin Strawberry Syrup
  • Fresh strawberries for garnish

Directions

  1. Add all ingredients to a shaking tin and shake vigorously for 1 minute.
  2. Strain into a chilled martini glass.
  3. Garnish with a fresh strawberry.

This delicious treat is available at Pasquale's Pizza & Pasta in Cullman.
