The Best Table in Town

Today’s luxury isn’t just dining out—it’s bringing an exceptional culinary experience home

Entertaining friends and family – from intimate dinner parties to special occasions like birthdays and anniversaries to baby showers and bachelorette weekends – can bring joy, but it often comes with a lot of time, effort, and expense. Savvy hosts know the secret to balancing the effort can be as simple as hiring a private chef, transforming the effort of hosting into a stress-free, deeply personal celebration. With customized menus, professional preparation in your own kitchen, and every dish tailored to your guests’ tastes and dietary needs, the best table in town is often the one in your own dining room.

For Courtney Williamson, Professional Chef and Owner of Courtney’s Kitchen, elevating special events through food was a love instilled at an early age. “I went into the kitchen and fell in love with everything. The artistry of it, the science behind it, everything.” She honed her craft through four years at The Jacobson Culinary Arts Academy and 14 years of crafting unforgettable meals in kitchens around Tampa Bay. During that time, she saw a need she knew she could fill–bringing special occasions to life through restaurant-quality meals prepared in a host’s own home.

Hosts can solve the challenge of serving a crowd in a few ways. They can go through the time and effort of crafting the meal themselves, but that can be incredibly time-consuming and often leaves hosts in the kitchen more than with their guests. Others choose to take the event to a restaurant or other venue, but that can be challenging depending on the size of the party and typically results in a hefty bill at the end of the meal. Some find a happy medium by catering the event in their home, but this often results in a sea of aluminum containers, cold food, and dishes that lack flair and presentation.

That’s when hiring a private chef can pay dividends. From the first call to cleaning the last dish, they take the effort out of hosting elegantly at home. “I get on a call, discuss their vision, and if there’s a certain theme that they want to stick to, a cuisine they want. I ask about any dietary restrictions, any allergies, and then I create a custom menu,” shared Williamson.

Courtney presents multiple menu options to dial in the experience to meet the host’s goals. Once that’s settled, the host is free to focus on their guests while Courtney takes care of everything else. She orders all the food, and even provides plates and serving ware if needed, and shows up prior to the event to prep the entire menu in the host’s kitchen, with perfectly presented food to please the pickiest guests. “I do all the cooking. Then, while they’re eating, I clean up and get ready for dessert. Then fully clean the whole kitchen and make sure they're satisfied,” added Williamson.

Many think hiring a private chef can be expensive, but when compared to catering or hosting at a restaurant, Williamson says the cost is often comparable to catering or dining out and comes with added benefits. “I’ve done multiple events for people who think that they couldn’t hire a personal chef, and after the event, they’re like, ‘I’m so glad I hired you. You were right. The money was worth it. You made the event feel like a breeze. You took a lot of pressure off me as a host,’” explained Williamson.

In the end, Courtney’s work isn’t just about flawless menus or spotless kitchens—it’s about being invited into some of life’s most meaningful moments. “I have a client, a professional baseball player. I did a surprise birthday breakfast for him. That’s what I love doing. I love to make sure that people have the event that they’re looking for.” For hosts who want the best table in town to be the one in their own home, Courtney’s Kitchen offers more than a meal. It delivers the rare luxury of being fully present for the memories you’re making.
