As the only official Aveda Salon and Spa from Woodland Hills to Camarillo, The Chair Aveda Salon and Spa is a family owned business that aims to make clients feel right at home.
“Our clients feel at home here; our staff treats everyone as a member of our family. Every single person that walks into our doors feels welcomed,” says Fernanda Silva, who opened The Chair in 2017 after her local Aveda salon closed its doors and personal life circumstances led her to realize the importance of self-care.
“We are always so busy taking care of everything else that we forget about ourselves,” says Fernanda. “I decided I wanted to give back. I wanted to make someone else’s day better too.”
Joining forces with senior stylists Janet Orozco and Heather Jasinski and equipped with a Marketing and Communication background and years of experience working with customers at the Spa at The Four Seasons Santa Barbara and Saks Fifth Avenue, Fernanda opened The Chair.
“During the three years we've been in business, we’ve grown very close to our community,” says Fernanda, a single mother of two young children who appreciates being part of a close-knit circle. “I truly enjoy getting to know the people in our community. We definitely create a bond; it’s so pleasant to keep in touch and catch up. When our stylists make our clients feel beautiful, and they walk away with a smile, that’s when we feel the most fulfilled.”
We caught up with Fernanda to learn more about what makes The Chair such a special place.
Q. What services and products does The Chair offer?
A. We are an Aveda Salon and Spa that provides services that help clients feel recharged and rejuvenated. We offer haircuts and color, highlights, balayage, keratin treatment, press n’ curl, signature Aveda botanical treatments such as Olaplex treatments, facials, Hydrafacials and waxing, just to name a few. We are also considered an Aveda store, where locals can find a complete selection of organic, cruelty-free and environmentally friendly Aveda products.

A. All of our professionals are trained by Aveda and our services follow Aveda protocols in order to maintain outstanding quality. Aveda is a pioneer of holistic beauty—its founder had great appreciation for the power of wellness to promote balance in mind, body and spirit as a prerequisite to achieving the guest’s beauty goals.
Q. Who are your typical customers?
A. We cater to everyone, from working moms and dads, to producers and realtors. We offer some children’s services, but we tend to be a quieter salon and spa where clients come to relax. We are also famous for all firsts—first facial, first color service, first wax.
Q. What do your customers like most about The Chair?
A. Clients love that we are Aveda. Our products are up to 96% organic, cruelty-free and environmentally friendly. They love that we have a very private and quaint atmosphere where guests are known by their name and treated to a high-end experience. Clients love that we know their needs—we go the extra mile to make them feel at home and we provide a place where they can truly relax. We are also known for the Aveda signature ritual of a neck and shoulder massage that Aveda salons offer, which is also part of why so many clients look to us as a place to unwind.
Q. How does The Chair stand apart from other salons?
A. Most salons are in for a quick service; the sooner their client is out the door, the more money they make. We definitely need to meet sales to keep our doors open, but we are in the business of taking care of people and making the world a better place one person at a time.
Q. Do you have any upcoming events or specials?
A. We have two signature events every year. Our Spring Fling in March and a Hydrafacial Signature event in October. We host a little cocktail party with exclusive deals on spa packages. It is definitely the time to invest in your skin as we offer unique discounts. We also hold monthly specials, sent through email and posted on our social media channels.
