It might be September, but here in the south, warm weather has not left us yet. Warm woolens and cozy cashmere are still a few months away for our southern style sisters, but we can talk about shoes, the one thing we all need. During F/W 2023 fashion week there were so many new options we haven’t seen in a while on the runways. Let’s take a look.
Ballet flats are Parisian chic, but the newly updated version is straight off the runway from Italy! Slingback or full back, the flat trend is here to stay, like Prada’s white pointed-toe flats with leather flowers on the toe.
Birkenstocks, Dad shoes or house shoes - whatever you call them - we can confidently predict that comfortable walking sandals or mules are still a popular choice with the cool girls. We saw them from Loewe, Dior and Gucci.
Updating your boot wardrobe with a lace-up style can be something different. Think Doc Martens - the Rick Owens collab was incredible! Coach and Sam Edelman have versions, too. The Dior lace up combat boot is a classic worth the splurge!
Denim in footwear is a thing. Denim pumps, denim sandals, denim brogues are all options to bring some blue into your shoes without the fragility of suede. A denim shoe will last like a favorite pair of jeans.
Shades of red are the color of the season and red shoes are on fire! Valentino has a kitten heel sling back to fire up any basic black, and Ferragamo’s red slide with the iconic logo on the heel will light up any outfit.
