Whether planning a wedding, corporate or fundraising event, or other celebration, deciding on the style of music can be a tough decision, especially with the classic debate over DJ or live band. With eighteen years of experience in the entertainment industry, Josh Greyson and his team at Noah Grey Music possess the unique ability to fuse live music with the flexibility and range of a DJ. The full-service entertainment company encompasses multiple live bands and ensembles, along with several DJs, and Greyson specializes in utilizing the various components to create custom music packages for events.

“We can add pieces to the DJ so it's not quite a solo DJ, but also not just a band,” said Greyson. “You can have a DJ with a drummer or a DJ with a drummer and a sax player. It lightens up the spirit a bit and makes it more fun than just a solo DJ by themselves.”

On the flip side, having the DJ component added to the live band greatly expands the range of music the band can offer and allows for easily crossing genres. The company’s flagship band, the Josh Greyson Band, is a great example. “If you like Motown, classic rock, country, or pop music, we can do all that as a live band,” explained Greyson. “But because I am a DJ who also plays guitar and sings in the band, I incorporate that in how we play music. For example, if you like current pop, hip hop, and more electronic music, I will DJ within the band as if it's an instrument in the band.”

Whether a client chooses to utilize the hybrid option or a specific DJ or band, Greyson guarantees a high-quality, elevated music experience for guests. “Sometimes a year or more of planning goes into an event. As the music, I feel like once the event starts, the success of the event gets passed off to us,” he said. “There is a lot of responsibility on us, but I love all that responsibility because we are really good at what we do. I work hard to ensure the talent is top level. We bring the energy and play the music how it should sound.”
