Ear infections, pink eye, skin conditions, upper respiratory infections, and other common illnesses can all be evaluated and treated right from the car in less than 15 minutes, with no appointment needed. If testing is required for a diagnosis, SmartMED’s sophisticated on-site lab provides patients with results for Strep, COVID, Flu, and RSV in less than an hour.
“As a provider, it improves efficiency and allows us to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a way that respects patients’ time and offers comfort and convenience,” said Stephanie Polk, FNP-C.
As more patients experienced SmartMED’s streamlined approach and saw how accessible care could be, they began asking for additional services. SmartMED listened and earlier in 2025, expanded to include a primary care division, with a focus on hormone management.

One of SmartMED’s newest self-pay innovations is SmartLABS—an on-demand lab testing service where patients can order their own labs without a doctor’s appointment. For a $25 draw and processing fee, patients can build a custom panel or choose from physician-recommended panels. “Patients can now order virtually any lab test, with fast turnaround times and self-pay pricing that’s more affordable than traditional laboratories. We return results via a HIPAA-compliant texting platform. It’s a major step forward—helping patients gain insight into their health affordably,” shared Dr. Luke Lathrop.
