The Galaxy Dining and Entertainment center in Wadsworth has made a name for itself since it opened its doors in 2000 by providing a facility that serves local customers with three unique restaurants as well an elegant banquet center that serves up to 500 people.

The Circle L Steakhouse at the Galaxy prepares the finest quality meats and steaks that you would typically find in sophisticated metropolitan steakhouses. They serve steaks from cattle that are raised 20 minutes down the road at the Circle L Farm in Burbank, which has been in Galaxy Senior Vice President Sean Leatherman's family farm for 40 years now. The farm produces Lim-Flex cattle, which are a combination of French Limousin Cattle and Angus. The connection between the restaurant and the farm allows them to offer a unique farm-to-table experience that is known for its freshness and authenticity.

The steakhouse offers two menus, one is a standard main menu with appetizers, entrees, salads, sides, steaks and seafood dishes, which customers rave about. Circle L also features Executive Chef Jonathon Martin’s Weekly Chef’s Table Menu, which is a special menu that is carefully put together – complete with glass and bottle pairings of wines for each entrée. The Weekly Menu is posted on the Galaxy website every Wednesday night and runs until the following Tuesday night.

Circle L’s décor blends a rustic, ranch-type feel with a tranquil and dimly-lit blue sky dome for ambiance. The walls are decorated with original art that was inspired by cave paintings found in Lascoux, France, that feature primitive drawings of Limousin cattle that are native to that region.

The Galaxy's second restaurant is the Wine Room, an award-winning wine bar and restaurant that features a cellar with over 4,000 bottles and an extensive wine list. The list offers 450 different labels of wine and over 50 different glasses of wine to enjoy as well. Since 2016, the Wine Room has achieved “Best Of” status from Wine Spectator Magazine. Sean points out that only about a dozen or so restaurants in Ohio have achieved this award. He goes on to say, “We are serious about wine here and over the years we have been able to accumulate some very good stuff. So if you’re looking for something different, we really have something for everybody.”

Behind the bar you will find a top-of-the-line wine dispenser that preserves open bottles of wine for up to a year and allows customers to enjoy a rare, high-end wine by the glass instead of having to buy an entire bottle, which would cost significantly more.

“The Wine Station is able to pressurize bottles of wine under gas so that oxygen cannot reach the wine,” Sean says. “It allows us to showcase certain wines that customers might not normally try because of price, so instead of buying a $150 bottle of wine, you could try a 3-ounce or 6-ounce glass just to taste it.”

One thing I noticed at both the Wine Bar and the Circle L Steakhouse is that Sean and the entire Galaxy team have gone to great measures to ensure that their customers' health and safety are a top priority while dining with them. In the Wine Room, for instance, tables are spaced out much more than the minimum requirement of six feet apart and partitions are put up every two seats at the bar so couples and friends can sit together without infringing on the next patron’s space.  Additional movable partitions are available for staff to install when a special seating arrangement may be required within the room. “I think it’s important for everyone to know, because it’s so prevalent in everyone’s mind. We are doing all that we can to allow our customers to socially distance and still enjoy a night out for a nice meal or a glass of wine,” Sean says.

The third restaurant at the Galaxy is the Sports Bar & Patio, one-of-a-kind destination for sports entertainment. It features 30 HD TV's broadcasting non-stop sports and other programming as well as outdoor bar and patio that is best enjoyed during the warmer months.

During my tour of the massive facility, Sean was able to show off the Banquet Center at the Galaxy as well. The center is spacious and versatile. The Galaxy is able to accommodate weddings, seminars, proms, business meetings and social events with ease. To check on pricing and information for the Banquet Center, contact Shelbie Johnson at shelbiej@galaxyrestaurant.com or visit GalaxyBanquetCenter.com.
