At EdenHill Communities, gratitude shows up in the friendships, people, and everyday moments that make a place feel like home.
For Kasey Jo, Interim Sales and Marketing Manager at EdenHill Communities, gratitude comes from knowing residents have the support they need, whatever stage of care they may be in.
“When I walk up to EdenHill every day, I know that if there’s a resident who needs any service level of care, we have it,” she says.
That’s a big part of what makes EdenHill different. As a faith-based nonprofit retirement community, its 27-acre campus offers a full continuum of care, so residents can stay close to the people and places they love. For couples, that can make a difficult transition a little easier.
For Kasey Jo, one family in particular shows what that care can mean. After Mrs. Mallard had a stroke and moved into skilled nursing, her husband was still able to live independently and visit her every day. Because both levels of care are on the same campus, they could continue spending life’s little moments together.
Kasey Jo sat with Mr. Mallard recently, and he stated, “When I go to bed at night, I pray out loud and give thanks that God willed Nancy and I to come to EdenHill.”
“He is a huge advocate that this was the right thing for them to do,” Kasey Jo says. “They still get to do life together.”
And there’s plenty of life happening here. Residents can do as much or as little as they want, whether that means grabbing coffee and donuts with friends in the morning, joining an exercise class, playing pickleball, taking a dip in the pool, heading out for lunch or dinner, or worshipping in the beautiful chapel led by Chaplain Sarah Currie. The Chapel Fund has already contributed over $15,000 this year to many organizations and projects in and around EdenHill.
“It’s just truly an inside neighborhood,” Kasey Jo says.
Moving into a retirement community doesn’t have to mean giving up the things people enjoy about home. In many ways, residents gain even more.
“You have so many people to talk to of your same age,” she says. “They know the stories. They remember the cars. They remember the diners.”
The sense of community comes with peace of mind, too. Residents can use emergency pendants and daily check-ins, while the EdenHill team handles pesky tasks like maintenance and changing air filters.
That same spirit of giving extends to EdenHill’s Benevolence Fund, which helps residents who have outlived their financial resources stay in the community. Many residents contribute to the fund themselves, giving back to the place they call home.
And perhaps that is what Kasey Jo is most thankful for: the people. With employees who have been at EdenHill for decades, there’s a strong sense of family behind the care residents receive.
“It’s like it becomes a family,” she said. That feeling extends across every level of the team, from housekeeping and maintenance to transportation and leadership. “The treatment of every single level is amazing,” she says.
September 15, 2026- Westminster, a not-for-profit senior living community dedicated to serving older adults through exceptional senior living and care services, is pleased to announce the acquisition of EdenHill Communities, a respected not-for-profit senior living community in New Braunfels, Texas. The future looks strong. Westminster has made a purposeful choice to invest in EdenHill, and EdenHill made a purposeful choice in selecting Westminster over other interested organizations. That means greater resources, operational support, and a long-term commitment to making this an even better place to work and to live.
The treatment at every single level is amazing. There is a lot of love and care that goes into what we do.
