The Greatest Gifts

Happy Holidays, friends!
I can't believe it's December already. It seems like just yesterday that my son, Coy, and I were swimming laps in the wave pool at Oceans of Fun, our summer happy place.

Now, I find myself the happy (but tired) mom of two boys! Charlie James was born in October and life has been so much fun as our family gets to know him. They say that your heart doubles in size when your second child comes along and I can attest to that! Coy is absolutely in love with his little brother, and it's been a pure joy to watch my husband, Zach, be a dad of two. He's really gone above and beyond to make the transition to a family of four an easy one.

Of course, we aren't alone in this. My mother has been a saint, supporting us through our hospital stay and transition home. It just proves that you're never too old to need your momma. I just hope that I can be as wonderful as she is.

Family is really what the holidays are all about and there's no better place to spend time with your family than in the Northland! Between all the great local shopping options and the myriad holiday activities, we are spoiled. I can't wait to take the boys ice skating, drive around looking at lighting displays with a thermos of hot chocolate or meet Santa and Mrs. Claus at the Atkins-Johnson Farm. Of course, that's a little ways off. Right now, I'm happy to snuggle my boys and soak up the holiday spirit.

This holiday season, I'm more grateful than ever for my family. And although that gift outweighs all others, I won't turn down a candle from Nell HIll's either!

Cheers!
