When most people go on vacation, they’re looking for an escape from reality. According to Kim, her role as a travel advisor is to make sure her clients sidestep some common problems that can come up when they try to book an all-inclusive resort themselves.
“Sometimes people think these resorts are all alike, but they're not,” she said. “If you're trying to plan a romantic vacation with your spouse, you don't want to end up at a family resort where there are lots of children.”
Other problems can also get in the way of an enjoyable vacation experience, she added.
“I've had it happen where people booked a resort on their own through a travel website and didn't read the resort’s main page, then found out that half the resort was undergoing construction. They thought they got a great rate, but couldn't do a lot of what they wanted to because it wasn't available.”
