Since its founding in 2000, the Lakewood Ranch Community Foundation has worked to enhance the lives of residents in Lakewood Ranch and in Manatee and Sarasota counties. With a mission focused on community care and local support, the foundation has awarded more than $1.5 million in grants to over 140 nonprofits, funding programs that directly impact local lives.

One of the foundation’s signature initiatives, the Builders Give Back program, embodies the “live here, give here” philosophy by encouraging new homeowners to get involved in philanthropy from the start. For every new home closing, participating builders make a donation to the foundation on behalf of the homeowner, with Lakewood Ranch Communities matching the contribution. This program not only strengthens community bonds but also ensures ongoing support for local causes.

In response to Hurricanes Helene and Milton, the foundation recently announced $50,000 in grants to organizations committed to delivering hurricane relief to Lakewood Ranch residents. This aid underscores the foundation’s commitment to supporting the community in times of crisis.

Residents and supporters can connect with the foundation through upcoming events to learn more, volunteer and support its mission:

  • Dec. 4, 5-7 p.m.: Gold Coast Distributors
  • Jan. 19, noon-4 p.m.: Sarasota Polo Club
  • Feb. 10, 8 a.m.-4 p.m.: Lennar-Calusa Lakes Golf Event
  • March 20, 5-7 p.m.: Gold Coast Distributors
  • April 3, 5-7 p.m.: Sarasota Polo Club

Through its programs and events, the Lakewood Ranch Community Foundation continues to make a lasting impact, fostering a resilient, generous community for those who call Lakewood Ranch home.

“We are here to help residents grow roots for the next chapter of their life, connecting them with philanthropies that align with their passions,” Mark Clark, President of LWRCF, said.

"Open the Door… join us and share your time, talents, and treasures to strengthen our community."
