When Joe Pezza purchased his 1980s Victorian in rural Longmont in 2018, he had a vision to turn the home into a contemporary farmhouse with a touch of Colorado.

“The property’s proximity to Boulder while retaining its farmland feel makes it really special,” Pezza says.

The Front Range is personified by its landscape’s juxtaposition of vast plains to the east and resplendent mountains to the west, and this home uniquely captures both experiences. It went on the market earlier this summer and is represented by Boulder broker Chris Angelovic of LIV Sotheby’s International Realty. At 5,787 square feet on over three acres of land, the home is a sprawling testament to luxurious rural living. With its magnificent views of the mountains and the plains from every room of the home, the property also boasts impeccable design and interior details that pay homage to its surroundings.

“My favorite feature is the way that every aspect of the property seems to highlight the natural open space and mountain views around the home,” Angelovic says.

Upon entry, visitors to the home are met by a stunning foyer that serves as the epicenter of the house.

“The home is definitely centered around its custom fabricated staircase in the entryway,” Pezza says, “as well as its high loft ceilings and custom antler chandelier.”

With an adjacent executive office space, living room and dining area, the entryway leads to a spacious, open kitchen and main living area that exudes modern rustic glamour. A dedicated bar room with TVs and cocktail seating adjoins to this main living area as well. Brazilian granite countertops line all the kitchen surfaces—as well as the bar—while an exposed wooden beam wrapped in reclaimed tractor trailer wood flooring runs through the kitchen and dining room. This statement beam is not the only feature created from reclaimed materials on the main floor. The mantels in the bar and over the fireplace in the luxurious master bedroom are made of railroad ties that Pezza found on the property upon initial purchase.

The renovated bar space is an ideal spot—according to Pezza—to unwind and catch a sporting event. It’s just one of multiple spaces prime for entertainment in the home. While this bar area boasts gorgeous views of the mountains and direct access to the pool and spa area, a private theater room is also tucked away above the attached garage. With a 100-inch screen and built-in speaker system, it provides a true cinematic experience and is one of Pezza’s favorite rooms in the house.

And when venturing out to enjoy Colorado’s unmatched outdoors is in the cards, this home is situated to provide a multitude of options.

“The proximity to Boulder, Lyons, Boulder Reservoir, Rocky Mountain National Park and numerous other recreational trails is ideal,” Angelovic says. “You could have your boat on Boulder Reservoir or be mountain biking at Heil Valley Ranch within minutes of leaving the house. That just can’t be beat.”
