The Lockhearts

Soul Sisters and Blood Harmony

Nineteen-year-old Paige and 17-year-old Kate Leisy are the country music sister duo, The Lockhearts. They have been singing together since they could talk and have always wanted to be singers. As Kate finishes high school and they pursue music full-time, they’ve written and released five singles, culminating in their first EP release in March 2025.

When they were just 10 and 12 years old, the Lockhearts began writing songs together—and they’ve continued, writing one new song every week for years. Kate explains, “We feel stronger together. Our voices have that sister blood harmony and it just felt right.” What began as a surprise ukulele gifted by their dad led to the sisters playing piano and guitar and taking voice and guitar lessons at Hudson’s on Mercer. Now, Paige teaches there.

Paige shares her heart: “Music creates moments for people. I love when I listen to a song and what it signifies to me at that moment of my life. I want to create music that people not only can relate to, but feels nostalgic.”

“The lost harmonies we used to hear in bands like the Dixie Chicks and the Everly Brothers are sounds we want to bring back. People are clinging to and longing for things with an old-timey feel,” Kate adds. “It catches people’s attention—an old sound with new style. We’re a little bit folk, country, and alternative, but the blending of harmonies has an old-soul feel to it with modern production.”

They love co-writing together and seeing fans impacted by their music. “Music is art and a beautiful thing to connect to,” shares Paige. “Everyone can relate to music and be bound together by it. Singing creates a special experience and moment. While some may feel numb from depression, music can make you feel something again and feel less alone.”

They have performed at Founders Day, Hudson’s on Mercer and the Songwriters Festival, and they have even caught the ear of music labels in Los Angeles. The Lockhearts are excited about the future. “There is so much more yet to come. No matter how far we tour, we will always come back to our roots here in Dripping Springs. We love our community and can’t thank you enough for your support!”

Their latest single “Porchlight” releases in February on all streaming platforms.
