The Meadowglade Expands Offerings

Community members, staff and clients gathered at a ribbon-cutting ceremony in April to celebrate The Meadowglade’s expansion to a new outpatient treatment facility in Moorpark.

The new facility, conveniently located by the 118 and 23 freeways with ample free parking, allows The Meadowglade to increase its treatment offerings and serve more clients through its full- and half-day outpatient programs.

“The new facility is spacious and welcoming, and it doubles the size of our outpatient center,” says Nariné Babikian, Executive Director of The Meadowglade. “Upgraded in every possible way,” the larger facility includes a sit-down kitchen, four group therapy and three individual therapy rooms, a reception and check-in area, group meeting rooms with teleconferencing capabilities, client lockers and staff offices.

“With this new huge, open space, we’ve added additional treatment modalities, including Saturday programming like tai chi, beat-based movement, yoga and sound baths,” says Nariné. “We are committed to providing clients with a variety of modalities to help them learn diverse coping strategies,” she adds.

With 2 decades of experience in healthcare, Nariné firmly believes that mental health is the cornerstone of overall well-being. She is committed to being part of a company where she can give back to the community and witness the transformative impact that valuable changes in mental health services can bring. Nariné understands that prioritizing mental health not only improves individual lives but also enhances community resilience and societal well-being.

Nariné is eager to begin networking in Moorpark and Ventura County, connecting with individuals from diverse backgrounds to ensure they are informed about the vital work being done within the community. With her expertise and dedication, she believes that their presence is crucial now more than ever. Recognizing the prevalence of mental health issues and actively working to address them allows for the promotion of early intervention, the destigmatization of seeking help, and the improvement of access to mental health services. This not only enhances individuals' quality of life and resilience but also strengthens communities and society, fostering a more inclusive, supportive and thriving environment where everyone can live fulfilling lives.

At The Meadowglade, a personalized, evidence-based approach is adopted, tailored to individual needs while recognizing the unique strengths of each person. Their modalities encompass a diverse range of therapeutic methods designed to foster holistic healing and long-term wellness. Emphasizing a variety of modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Anger Reduction Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and EMDR Psychotherapy, alongside creative interventions such as music, art, and group therapy, the aim is to equip clients with lifelong skills.

Treatment Options

The Meadowglade’s three service options are designed to meet clients wherever they are:

1.     The Cottage is a secluded 6-bed residential treatment facility with 24-hour support.

2.     The Meadowglade’s retreat-like 14-bed residential hilltop house, surrounded by open space and fruit orchards, includes in-home scheduled activities and programs, such as cooking, gardening and career services. Clients are also transported to the outpatient treatment center for a full day of programming.

3.     The Outpatient Treatment Center includes full- and half-day programming incorporating a variety of healing modalities.

The full program typically takes clients about 90 days—30 days in each stage or 45 days in two stages—to complete.

“Everybody is here for a certain amount of time of time,” says Nariné, noting that each person is unique. “We want them to learn from us and take what they’ve learned out in their world. We want to be a part of their journey.”

With an estimated 1 in 5 Americans experiencing mental health issues annually, the importance of addressing these conditions cannot be overstated.

“Our mission is to improve the lives of our clients by providing holistic and evidenced-based services that promote and empower personal growth by inspiring hope through our unwavering commitment to compassionate client-centered care,” says Christina Hesselbrock, MSW, LCSW, Clinical Director at The Meadowglade.

The Meadowglade is part of Centered Health, a network of distinguished mental health treatment centers dedicated to providing transformative care and support to teens, adults and families.
