Hi! My name is Jocko Paden Swart, and I’m new to the neighborhood! I’m a 10-week-old West Highland White Terrier, but you can call me a Westie for short. I was born in Pendleton, South Carolina, and I'm now settled in at my new home in Midlothian. You might recognize my last name—that’s because my new dad is the publisher of this magazine! My dad and I share an extraordinary bond because we both understand the warmth and love of being embraced by chosen families.

My breed is from Scotland, and all of us Westies have beautiful snowy white coats. My dad says I’m a quick learner and that I'm adventurous.  We both love to run and exercise, and we cannot wait until I’m old enough to hit the trails together. I enjoy making new human friends and spending time with their furry companions. I'm so excited to be here and cannot wait to go exploring together. My dad says RVA is brimming with culture, cuisine, and creativity. I'm excited to meet some of you very soon!
