The Paloma: A South of the Border Drink for Brunch

Woman Made, Woman Owned Dona Vega Mezcal Livens Up Your Brunch Table

A Paloma made with Doña Vega Mezcal offers a break from that tired Margarita for your next boozy brunch.   Doña Vega is founded and produced by a group of women who believe they have created the perfect mezcal.

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces Doña Vega Mezcal
  • 3/4 ounce triple sec
  • 3 ounces grapefruit juice, freshly squeezed
  • 1 ounce lime juice, freshly squeezed
  • Club soda
  • Ice
  • Grapefruit wedges

Instructions

  • Add ice to the cocktail shaker.

  • Pour in the mezcal, triple sec, grapefruit juice, and lime juice.

  • Shake vigorously for 15 seconds.

  • Add ice to a highball or tumbler cocktail glass (a Nick and Nora glass adds a sophisticated touch). Strain the cocktail into the glass.

  • Add a splash of club soda on top. Slice a tiny slit into your grapefruit or lime wedge and perch on the glass for a garnish. A salted (or even sugared) rim is optional, or even a sprig of rosemary or mint!
