The Perfect Summer Sangria

Wow Your Guests with a Simple Yet Refreshing Take on Sangria

Nothing is better than relaxing poolside (or lakeside!) with family and friends in the hot Texas summer. When you are looking for a refreshing adult beverage to cool you off, this Spanish-inspired white wine sangria is the perfect drink for brunches, parties or just a hot summer afternoon. The recipe is simple, only takes 15 minutes to make and can be assembled up to 48 hours ahead of time.

Ingredients

1 medium lime, thinly sliced
1 medium lemon, thinly sliced
1/4 cup organic cane sugar (for drier sangria, omit)
1/4 cup apple brandy
1/2 medium organic green apple, chopped into small pieces
1 medium ripe peach or nectarine, thinly sliced
1 cup strawberries, sliced
1 750-milliliter bottle dry white wine, chilled
Ice or frozen berries for serving
Sparkling water (optional)
Fresh mint (optional)

Directions

1. In a large pitcher, add lime, lemon and sugar. Muddle.

2. Add apple brandy and muddle again to combine. Add apple, nectarine, strawberries and wine. Stir.

3. Add ice or frozen berries. Serve as is or with a bit more ice and mint. To dilute the mixture, top off glasses with a bit of sparkling water.

4. Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 48 hours.

Servings: 6 glasses
