You’ve seen their work in these pages, but you may not always know the faces behind it.
Each month, an incredible group of writers and photographers works behind the scenes to help bring Dripping Springs City Lifestyle to life. They are the people asking the questions, finding the stories, capturing the moments, and helping us share what makes this community so special.
Putting together a magazine each month is truly a team effort, and we couldn’t do it without them. Our contributors bring their own talents, perspectives, and creativity to every assignment, but they all share something in common: a genuine passion for telling the stories of the people, businesses, and organizations that make Dripping Springs home.
So, in the spirit of our Thankful issue, we thought it was fitting to put faces to the names you see throughout the magazine and introduce you to some of the people behind the pages.
We are incredibly grateful for their time, their talent and the care they put into their craft. Meet the contributors who help us tell your stories.
Melissa Svoboda
I’ve been copy editor for DSCL for three years, keeping a close eye on every word—and comma—that appears on these pages. But I especially love the opportunity to write stories for the magazine. I’m continually amazed by the people I meet, and it’s a privilege to uncover what makes them special and find the words to tell their stories with the care they deserve. When I’m not working on the magazine, I spend much of my time with my four kids, working out, and dreaming about writing a book someday.
Micah Wiener
I have written for DSCL for four years, telling stories about the people, charities, and businesses that make this community special. Outside of the magazine, I work in real estate lending, specializing in fix and flip and new construction loans. My wife, Caitlin, and I live in Headwaters with our two young daughters, Jane and Grace.

Megan Ewing
My name is Megan Ewing, and I am a writer here at DSCL. I graduated from the University of Arizona in 2023 with a degree in journalism and have always been incredibly passionate about storytelling. I believe it has the power to bring people and communities together in such a special way, and I am so lucky to have made a career doing what I love.
Christina Thompson
I am a writer, a book lover, and an avid reader. As a wife and mom to two elementary-aged daughters, I enjoy spending time outdoors, especially running or walking our dog along the trails. I love to travel, but I’m equally grateful to call the Hill Country home for the past eight years. On weekends, you’ll find our family playing and watching sports, exploring local restaurants and breweries with friends, and maxing out our library cards reading as many books as possible.
Alex Davis
I’m Alex Davis, a mom of two whose love for photography began during a challenging postpartum season after my second child. Picking up a camera helped me rediscover joy, creativity, and a sense of identity. Today, I love building genuine connections with my clients and helping them feel comfortable and completely themselves in front of the camera. Senior portraits are especially close to my heart—there’s something meaningful about freezing time during such a transformative season before kids head off on their next adventure.

Summer Miles
Hi, I’m Summer Miles. In 2027 I’ll celebrate 20 years as a professional photographer, though my love of the art began long before that. I’m endlessly inspired by color, light, our beautiful planet, and interesting humans. I recently opened Highlight House Studio, specializing in dramatic youth sports portraits. I also really enjoy editorial work, local business marketing, and high school senior photos. Capturing the stories of the incredible people I meet is an honor, and I’m truly grateful for everyone who has supported my small business over the years!

Kimber Brown
After more than a decade behind the camera, I still love the unexpected moments most—the laugh between poses, the quiet connection between family members, or the spark that appears when someone talks about what they love. Those are the moments I want to preserve. Dripping Springs gives me plenty of them, from families and local businesses to the everyday beauty of life in this community. I’m grateful that photography allows me to connect with people, tell their stories, and create images they’ll treasure for years to come.

Claire Mulkey
Growing up in Oregon gave me a lifelong love of the outdoors, and that continues to shape my photography today. I’m always scouting new trails, parks, and tucked-away spots around Dripping Springs, especially for clients willing to venture a little farther for the perfect shot. Even better than discovering new places has been getting to know the people I photograph. Many have become friends over the years, making me especially grateful to live, work, and create in such a welcoming community.
