Opened in 2000, The Terrace Club is Dripping Springs’ first wedding venue. “When we opened, it was a one-stoplight town,” says owner Hunter Connor. “Most weddings were at country clubs and churches. This was untapped territory.”
While there’s now plenty of competition in the event space, Connor is proud of the industry The Terrace Club helped create. In fact, Dripping Springs is recognized by the state legislature as the official “Wedding Capital of Texas.”
From the start, The Terrace Club employed women and worked with female-owned local businesses. “It’s like a little family. Photographers and florists,” she says. “It’s nice to see them every weekend, and it’s great to work with people I want to support and promote.”
“We feel like we’ve blazed a trail for our industry. We set the standard. Created the template,” Connor says. “We’re part of a destination area now. Part of that growth in this area was helped by the wedding industry,” she says. “People discovered Dripping Spring through visits here.”
