Community generosity is alive and well at The Webb School, a co-ed, independent college preparatory boarding and day school serving students in grades 6-12 from its location in historic Bell Buckle. Middle schoolers there recently participated in a divisionwide Service Day to show love and appreciation for the members of the community as well as local armed forces representatives.
For example, students wrote letters to active military representatives, created inspirational cards for cancer patients, assembled bookmark-making kits for their local library, volunteered at the Nourish Food Bank, cleaned up the Duck River and engaged with students at Bright Beginnings and Thomas Magnet.
Every fall, service outreach activities support two of The Webb School's six enduring understandings or beliefs: "Respect for self and others is essential to a harmonious society," and "Each person shares the responsibility and honor of serving others."
Founded in 1870 by renowned educator Sawney Webb, The Webb School remains the South’s oldest continuously operating co-ed, independent preparatory school. Located on a 150-acre campus, the school's faculty, administrators and team members are committed to academic excellence, integrity and character development. Furthermore, Webb's stated overall mission is “to turn out young people who are tireless workers, and who know how to work effectively; who are accurate scholars; who know the finer points of morals and practice them in their daily living; who are always courteous.”
