Pirtle Winery Celebrates 40 Years With a Lush Red

The Westonian is Full Bodied + Award-Winning

Nestled in a former Lutheran Evangelical Church built by German immigrants in 1867, Pirtle Winery has been a destination for wine lovers since 1978. In the 40 years since they opened, they have racked up many awards and pleased the palates of thousands of visitors.

To commemorate this anniversary, they released The Westonian. The Westonian is a full-bodied red wine, made with grapes from their vineyard that planted 26 years ago. This food-friendly wine has hints of black cherry with soft tannins, offering a bold flavor but a smooth finish. It has been barrel-aged for 12 months in oak.

Grab a bottle to pair with a filet, a hearty red sauce pasta, or by enjoy by itself. Even Pirtle's anniversary wines are winners. Released one year ago, The Westonian won a gold medal at the last Jefferson Cup International Wine Competition.
