Walk into Favorite Things Deli on any given day and you’ll find fresh treats, goods from local businesses, and owner Josh Moss nearby, talking up whatever he’s craving that week. Since opening in June, the deli has quickly become a community staple, inspired by family favorites and a love for feeding people.
Josh grew up in Loveland, and the shop grew out of All the Ingredients, the meal prep/catering business his mom Leah started years ago. Family dinner was always a big deal during his formative years, and Leah’s willingness to try anything in the kitchen rubbed off early. Watching Loveland grow into a thriving micro-economy, Josh wanted to fill a gap — Loveland needed a deli! — and be part of that momentum.
So what exactly are Josh’s current favorites? You know they’re noteworthy (crave-worthy).
The #9 Muffuletta
Piled onto focaccia with imported soppressata, capicola, mortadella, and provolone, the standout is the olive tapenade: made with green, black, and Kalamata olives, along with sun-dried tomato, basil, oil, capers, and garlic. “I always make those people try it,” Josh says of olive skeptics. “They always love it.”
The #6 Chipotle Turkey
Built on sourdough with turkey, gouda, arugula, tomato, onion, pepper relish, and chipotle mayo, it’s earned its fan-fave status. Fresh, balanced, and perfect to enjoy at the park or along the river, an intentional move on Josh’s part. The deli keeps seating limited to encourage patrons to explore downtown.
Chicken Salad, Broccoli Salad, Carrot Cake
Ask Josh to name a third favorite and he can’t. It’s a perfect trio instead. Both salads are clean, fresh, and have their own following. But the carrot cake, made with a pinch of coconut (yes!), truly stands out. No surprise, as all the shop’s sweet indulgences are procured locally (including those over-the-top cinnamon rolls, available weekends only while they last).
But the menu keeps evolving, with Josh teasing fall additions like soup and fried chicken sandwiches (you read that right).

Before the deli, Josh built a career across media, startups, and nonprofits, and he’s heavily involved in the local rock climbing community. That range of experience shapes how he runs Favorite Things, blending business acumen with hometown pride. “I want to pour love back into Loveland,” he shares, “the hometown that raised me.”
