The country club business model has changed dramatically over the past few years. Country clubs used to be all about the golf course; everything else was secondary. That is not the case anymore. Any country club that is going to be successful needs to make it so that families may spend quality time together. There must be something for everyone in the family, individually and collectively, for the family to get the most benefit from a membership.

Top 10 questions to ask when shopping for a country club membership:

1. Does the country club have a junior activities director?

2. Does the club have an active member events calendar?

3. What are the conditions of the golf course? It needs to be in fantastic condition.

4. Have there been any assessments in the recent past?

5. Are there career staff members with 20+ years of tenure?

6. Does the club have a ‘Member for a Day’ program or an equivalent?

7. How many holes does the facility have? Variety is a bonus.

8. Are you given an opportunity to try the food and dining experience?

9. Is the Club what you are looking for on a personal and professional basis?

10. Do you and your family feel totally comfortable at the club?
