This 2020 Sunnies Trend May Surprise You

TIME TO ASK GRANDMA IF YOU CAN BORROW HER SUNGLASSES

Last year we were all about tiny sunnies. And while you can sort of still wear them in this updated '90s rectangular form*, 2020 is really all about the granny glasses.

Yup, it's time to see if your stylish grandma has any extra pairs of sunglasses because her style is the big thing this summer. Think tortoiseshell, big square shapes, and delicate beaded sunglass chains. Just like we saw pearls all over hair accessories this spring, you'll now be wearing them around your neck to hold your sunnies.

"No matter how many micro mini sunglass frames infiltrate the market, it cannot be ignored that the oversize frame is come back with a vengeance. Don't discount sunglasses of the larger variety, as they'll have you channeling everyone from Audrey Hepburn to Jackie Kennedy for the coming decade."
POPSUGAR
"This look is fun, mix vintage garments with big clashing prints, perm inspired messy curls. Keep it fresh and fun. With sheer lenses to make your eyes pop!"
Heart UK
"Microscopic sunglasses are (finally) giving way to the oversize shapes. Warm tones, tortoiseshell, and retro square shapes are all the details to look out for here, but really, any pair that feels like something your grandma might have worn is a sure bet."

*These '90s sunglasses are also making a splash this summer.

"We may be doing away with micro-sunglasses, but the '90s film is still as relevant as ever. If The Matrix were adapted for 2020, the shades would be slightly bigger and the shapes more angular and sharp."
