Prepare for the Holidays with Personalized and Creative Design Without the Hassle

Every year, people count down the days until they can show off their favorite decorations for the holiday season.

However, the effort to decorate and take down decorations each year is often a busy and overwhelming process. Kathy Wright, owner of The Wright Holiday Design, is helping people achieve their holiday dreams minus the stress by offering custom holiday installations and design.

“What gives me the most happiness is that moment when they come home or walk into their business and go ‘wow,’ and get that magical feeling,” Wright said. “I live for that joy that I can give others.”

Wright worked in the finance industry for 32 years before starting her holiday design business. While in the corporate world, decorating for the holidays became one of her favorite creative hobbies.

“It was such a stress reliever for me and such a creative release that I became known for it and people waited every year to see what I did with my Christmas decorations each year,” she said.

After retiring from her finance career last year, Wright decided to turn something she loves into a business. She not only offers services that handle the installation and take down process, such as decorating the tree, tabletops, or the front porch, she also helps clients order and choose designs and styles.

“It's really for people who either want that look and don't have the time to do it or don't think they have the talent to do it,” she said.  “They've always wanted that magical feeling, but just didn't have the time or the resources to do it themselves.”

Wright understands that everyone has their own personal style and taste, especially when it comes to the holidays. Part of her services include shopping and choosing high-quality items that fit the client’s vision. She also enjoys incorporating items that reflect the client, like choosing a theme based on the business or using one’s own holiday collections.

“I think that's another way I customize – I really listen to what makes them them, and come up with something different that's only for them,” she said.

Although the most popular holiday is Christmas, Wright’s business serves clients all year round. She also helps decorate for holidays such as Valentine’s Day, Easter, Halloween, Thanksgiving, July Fourth, among others.

Wright also offers a year-round door program, where she takes Christmas garland used around the door once the season ends, and changes it out to match different holidays throughout the year.

Besides the holidays, she also decorates doors for events, such as showers or graduation parties.

When it comes to planning holiday décor, Wright said it is never too early to start ordering for the season. In fact, she begins placing orders as early as January.

“The summer is also the perfect time to hire a designer, and go through your vision and get your items ordered,” she adds.

Wright offers her services a la carte, or clients can choose whichever service they need – whether it’s just the design and creative portion, personal shopping, or installation and take down. Currently, her business is not offering rental services.

This year, Wright will begin installations for Christmas in October.

“That moment when they walk in and see it, and I see their happy faces and the joy that it brings them, that's my worth it moment,” she said. “I want to bring that joy and that magic to people.”
