Molly and Preston Higdon’s story began shortly after college, when their shared careers in retail first brought them together. After getting married, the couple discovered a mutual interest in real estate, purchasing and flipping homes as their first venture. During that time, Molly decided to pursue her real estate license and quickly realized that helping others find their perfect home was her true calling.
Recognizing Preston’s natural charisma and people-first personality, Molly knew he’d be a perfect fit for the industry. It took a bit of convincing, but soon Preston joined her - and today, the two work side by side, combining their complementary strengths to help clients turn their homeownership dreams into reality.
“In any relationship - whether personal or professional - the most successful teams are those with opposite strengths and weaknesses,” shares Molly. “I’m very analytical and detail-oriented, while my husband can talk to anyone about anything. We’re both involved in every transaction, but we naturally take the lead in different areas depending on our strengths.”
Working together has deepened not only their professional partnership but also their connection with clients. “People really love working with a husband-and-wife team,” says Molly. “They get to see us as professionals but also as a couple. Clients often ask about our family or how we met, which creates a personal connection. It helps bridge the gap between business and relationship - we’re all working together toward the same goal.”
The Higdons are proud members of a larger Keller Williams team, which Molly credits for its strong support network. While working as a couple has its challenges, it also brings tremendous rewards. “I love that we get to spend so much time together and talk through what’s happening day to day,” says Molly. “Communication is key. Real estate offers flexibility, but it’s also very time-consuming. Because we’re in the same industry, we understand the demands - like taking calls on weekends or after hours. We’re always working toward the same goal and supporting each other along the way.”
When they’re not helping clients, Molly and Preston enjoy spending time with family, traveling, and staying active outdoors - especially hiking near their vacation home in North Carolina. Locally, they love exploring Lakewood Ranch's vibrant community. “We enjoy checking out events at Waterside and University Town Center,” Molly says. “This area has so much to offer, and we love discovering new things to do together.”
