Tour A Custom Home Design at Woodland Creek

Check out living in style as you tour custom luxury living in Woodland Creek

Dana Dziuk, Senior Project Manager for Lee Lyn Construction, has been picking up nails on job sites her whole life. “My Dad worked for his Dad, and my Mom’s Dad was also a remodeler” so it was only fitting for Dana to dive into the family business in 2016. Lee Lyn Construction (middle names of each of her parents) was born in 1980 and has since taken the custom home building business to a whole new level. They recently began sharing their creativity by bringing Waconia clients dreams to life in the coveted Woodland Creek development where Dana stresses, “We just really want our clients to, as much as they can, enjoy the selection process. There are a lot of nerves that go into building a custom home and when it all comes together, we want them to feel like “This is my home!”

The beautiful, mature Woodland Creek development is located east of highway 284 and just south of the Sierra neighborhood. The developers left as much of the natural elements as they could when designing the landscape. 17 acres of mature trees, wetlands, a bubbling stream, a public city park and ponds make up this new area.

The fun, and also nerve inducing part of building a home, is the age-old question, what to splurge on and what to skip? Dana and the skillful contractors and partners get inspiration from their very own experiences. They study and survey what trends and styles they’ve seen the most of and what they do in their own homes. “Sometimes I even love trying something that I don’t have the guts to try in my own home”, Dana says with a laugh. For example, she tried a dark grey tile with a floral print in a bathroom and it was a hit. “Every single project you learn a little more.”

When it comes to splurging, Dana says you have to ask yourself how often the upgrade will be used. She shares that putting your money into high end cabinets or quartz countertops makes a lot more sense in your kitchen versus your wet bar in the basement that you’ll use twice a year for entertaining. For our cold Minnesota winters (and springs this year it seems) a heated floor in the master bath is a must. “Once you have it, you’ll really appreciate it.” How often do you use your fireplace on the main level? Would it make more sense to have one to cozy up to for those extra frigid nights in the basement? You’re in the master bath constantly, go for that walk-in shower and fancy flooring to enjoy on a daily basis.

Dana has gotten to know Waconia very well in her time here and says that prospective builders here are excited to not be told what they “have to” do with their vision. They also love that the neighborhood will have character with all of the custom-built homes from different builders. If you’re thinking of giving Dana a call in Woodland Creek, get ready for gorgeous options and upgrades to choose from. Right now, exposed beams are all the rage, along with an amazing open layout. Recessed lighting over a covered porch is an inviting addition, along with the more durable, easy to clean and easily replaceable Luxury Vinyl Plank flooring. Quartz is still in the lead over granite and white cabinets, actually classy white everything, is still holding strong.

Lee Lyn Construction prides themselves on proving a team that can bring their clients dreams to reality. Dana truly believes that “The people we choose to work with take pride in what they do and want our clients to succeed just as much as we do.”
