A high school sophomore excelling at homeschool and taking classes at Austin Community College, Londyn Boone recently moved to Kyle from Florida. She loves being with friends and family in nature and practicing football with her brother. Her greatest joy is making a difference in the lives of others.
“It’s always felt like I was called to give back,” Boone says. That calling inspired her to create a foundation for underprivileged youth and their families.
Last year, the Londyn Legacy Foundation hosted a community toy drive, collecting more than 500 toys. Londyn distributed donated toys and gifts for mothers to the Hays-Caldwell Women’s Center and the Southside Community Center in San Marcos. “It really made me feel good to see what impact I’ve had,” Londyn says with a big smile.
Her second annual toy drive is this month and she hopes to ultimately expand the foundation’s reach. There will be door prizes, a bounce house, and free food.
At an age when it’s easy to focus solely on what’s right in front of you, Londyn is not only looking to her own future but is also building a legacy that helps others imagine theirs.
