For longtime Northwest Arkansas resident Case Maner, one of the most rewarding parts of running his business is seeing the impact it has on people’s daily lives. Together with his wife, Melissa, the couple owns Closets by Design in Springdale—where they specialize in custom storage systems that transform not just homes, but how their clients live in them.
“The reason I love doing closets so much is because it can be a game changer for clients when they have a storage system built into their home that's specifically tailored and created for their unique space,” Case says. “It allows them to store so many more things in their closet than they normally would be able to do.”
The Closets by Design corporation has been a national leader in custom storage solutions since 1982, now with 66 locations across the U.S. Recognizing a need for this type of business in the area, Case and Melissa opened the doors to the first and only Closets by Design in Arkansas in April 2024. The company specializes in designing, manufacturing, and installing custom storage systems for closets, garages, pantries, home offices, laundry rooms, and hobby spaces.
Unlike many competitors, the Springdale-based Closets by Design has its own factory onsite, where all materials are cut, drilled, and prepared for installation. This allows local control over quality along with a shorter timeline—most projects are completed within three to six weeks.
At Closets by Design, all team members are locally based, expertly trained, and held to high standards—no subcontractors involved.
“It allows us to provide the kind of service and white-glove treatment that we want to give to our clients,” Case says.
Each free consultation takes place in the home and is led by a professional designer. During the visit, the designer listens carefully to the client’s needs, evaluates the space, and presents a variety of catalogs and samples to showcase available accessories, colors, and design options.
The designer will then develop a personalized plan—complete with accessories, finishes, and various pricing options.
What sets the Closets by Design team apart is their designers’ expert training in maximizing organization, even in the most limited or unique spaces.
“We all have different homes that may have unusual walls or ceilings or spaces, and one thing we excel at is our ability to come up with creative, unique, and helpful designs that will allow the customer to really maximize the amount of storage and organization for the different areas in their home,” Case says.
