HOW TO PICK A TREATMENT
First stop at any spa should be a consultation. At BTFL, Consults at BTFL are an hour long. Millan and Green spend time getting to know your aesthetic goals, do a full face assessment with photos of your face at multiple angles and sometimes even ‘with expression’ to see how your face moves (and where the wrinkles gather). Each face and body is unique, and at a consultation, they discuss your full health history, describe all the products and devices pertinent to your goals, and answer any questions.
“There is no pressure to get a treatment at a consultation, you can always think about it and book the service later.” Millan told us.

BOTOX, BIOSTIUMALTORS & FILLER
Botox treats expressive wrinkles, to lift and open the eyes, lift the neck and correct any facial asymmetries. It’s the OG and it rarely fails to produce amazing results. Millan is passionate about fitness, and loves dysport because it is fast acting and works well their athletic clients.
Radiesse - stimulate collagen while giving subtle volume, versatile product requires less aftercare by patient. Particularly in the lower face/jaw and neck/chest.
Lip filler - for lip augmentation and volume. Support aging lips. Hydration. Also helps with lines around the mouth. The ladies of BTFL love Revanesse LIPS, its natural looking and feeling. It injects evenly, with less migration and lumps/bumps than other products.
Cheek filler - “I call it the push up bra of the face!” Millan says, it restores lost volume from aging, really refreshes and rejuvenates the face. Depending on their clients needs, the ladies gravitate to Radiesse, restylane contour and RHA 4 for this. They give a nice lift to the tissue while keeping a natural round dome look.
ULTRACLEAR LASER
BTFL is one of only two practices in NJ to have Ultraclear. The ONLY one in Monmouth county and along the Jersey Shore! This brand new technology is changing the game in lasers. It is a customizable ablative fractional laser (people commonly call it a cold laser) which means it delivers thermal energy with less thermal damage than other ablative lasers. This means shorter downtime (more than half the downtime compared to other devices), less discomfort with procedure (less than half the pain compared to others). Clients don't even require topical anesthetic with certain settings because it’s so tolerable. It also has the ability to tighten sagging skin with its laser coring feature, which is unique to this device. It can yield a non-surgical lift of the neck like nothing else on the market, rivaling a surgical neck lift even. It is safe on all skin types, treats pigmentation, fine lines as well as deep wrinkles and tissue laxity/sagging skin.
WEIGHT LOSS SHOTS
BTFL SLIM is a lipotropic injection designed to support fat breakdown. It contains methionine, inositol, and choline, which help with lipid metabolism. Methionine supports immune function and detoxification, inositol aids cell membrane production and insulin regulation, and choline promotes fat breakdown for energy. This weekly subcutaneous injection can be used for up to 12 weeks to help with fat loss.
Semaglutide - Semaglutide is a glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) analog, it works by binding to and activating the GLP-1 receptor, thereby stimulating insulin secretion in the pancreas and reducing blood glucose. It increases satiety (you feel full longer), delays gastric emptying and by result your appetite is suppressed and you consume less. It is a subcutaneous injection that is given weekly.
Not everyone is a candidate for semaglutide, but it results in larger weight loss than SLIM and is often better for those starting on a large weight loss journey. For those with smaller weight fluctuations, bloat and wanting less aggressive intervention SLIM may be more their speed.
MAINTENENCE
Botox: Requires some upkeep - approximately every three to four months if you want to stay fresh, no matter the brand. The drug wears off, if you want to maintain your results you have to keep retreating when movement returns at those intervals.
Filler: depends on your goals—very patient specific.
Lip filler: the results will last 6-12 months, but if you are new to the process, it is advised to build your lip volume with smaller amounts, which will require a few trips to get it perfect.
Cheek filler or Jaw: 12 to 18 months.
Hyperdilute Radiesse: every 12 months once goals are achieved.
Millan likes to say starting a filler journey is like maintaining a luxury car. “I tell them it takes a lot to gas up the car, but then it's an easy drive. Meaning you often need a lot of restoration, product and work initially, but once we have achieved your goals maintenance is often much lighter work. A little "top off" every 12-18 months as we go along. Botox is the oil that keeps the engine running, if you're doing filler you really want to adjunct with it for the most natural ride (results).”
HOW SCARY IS THE PROCESS?
That depends! For both procedures, Green and Millan use the smallest needles possible to keep the discomfort to a minimum. Botox is injected with an ultrafine needle, so small you barely feel them, causing minimal discomfort.
For filler the ladies numb the starting sites, and after that most of the sharp work is done. Using a cannula that glides under the skin, people say they barely feel it.
“Some areas of your anatomy can be a little spicy, but we account for those when doing this so there's no real surprises. We also have distractors in the office, like vibrators and stress balls. These help your brain feel less pain, by processing vibratory stimuli instead of pain and keep you from tensing your muscles.”
AFTERCARE
‘Tox -- don’t touch the treated area and no hats for 4 hours after. No exercise for 24 hours.
Filler—often product line specific but generally—don't touch the treated area, don't exercise, and don't wear makeup for 24 hours.
