At Invictus Chiropractic, Dr. Jordan Carroll and his team work with empathy and compassion to help others restore their health using scientific techniques that are both gentle and effective.
While many might envision working with a chiropractor as a series of back-cracking experiences, that couldn’t be farther from the truth.
“Our goal is to change how the nervous system adapts,” Jordan says.
Bringing the body back into neurological balance is what drives Dr. Jordan, who’s owned and operated Invictus Chiropractic since 2017. The human body is a highly-sophisticated network of nerves, muscles and messages, a delicate universe meant to exist in perfect balance. A body in balance can move fluidly between two modes—fight-or-flight mode and rest-and-digest mode. But when any part of those networks get out of order, illness and pain are not far away.
“Health is definitely your greatest asset,” Dr. Jordan says. “Either take care of your wellness now or your sickness later.”
Dr. Jordan’s work centers on the idea that the body can heal itself from the inside out. Rather than using medicines to address pain, he helps clients address the root of their ailment, from digestive issues to muscle pain. Using a special method called the Torque Release Technique and a T-shaped tool called The Integrator, Dr. Jordan can send tiny impulses to activate nerves with laser precision. He also uses a special technique called the Webster Technique to safely treat pregnant women and help them prepare for birth.
FAMILY-CENTERED CHIROPRACTIC CARE
Unlike other chiropractors, Invictus Chiropractic serves the entire family from newborns to older adults. Dr. Jordan can help newborns who’ve suffered a traumatic birth or work with mothers struggling with back pain. Some clients even bring the entire family for treatment at the same time.
“We’re always happy when we are there and when we leave,” says Brittany Tesson who takes her entire family of five for treatment. “We’re doing something good to take care of ourselves.”
Each of Brittany’s children—who are 8, 5, and 3 years old—have seen Dr. Jordan for everything from digestive problems to anxiety and attention hyper deficit disorder. Brittany’s seen better health in all of her children after visiting Dr. Jordan. They are able to control their impulses better and her youngest has fewer digestive problems. Brittany and her husband also see Dr. Jordan for aches and pains. Since then, they’ve noticed a significant improvement in their own health. They recover from sickness quicker and have less stress.
“Family life has improved over all,” Brittany says.
A PASSION FOR HEALTHY HEALING
Helping people feel better has long been a passion for Dr. Jordan. In college, he worked with Division I athletes as an athletic trainer and learned firsthand how chiropractic treatment can restore a person’s health. When he decided to pursue chiropractic training, he initially chose an athletic route, but changed course after he saw a classmate’s life-changing experience. The classmate and his wife had struggled to get pregnant and tried chiropractic care as a last-ditch effort. Within months the couple conceived. After learning their story, Dr. Jordan dedicated his studies and eventually his practice to caring for families. He graduated from Logan University in St. Louis, Mo. with both his bachelor’s degree and doctor of chiropractic. He is also a certified member of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association.
MAKING FAMILY HEALTH A PRIORITY
With such a focus on families, it’s no surprise that Dr. Jordan’s own family is a part of his practice. His wife, Caitlin, helps run Invictus Chiropractic’s office while their 10-month-old son, Deacon, gets regular adjustments from dad. Setting family traditions and staying healthy are top priorities for Dr. Jordan. He enjoys staying physically active with his family which also includes two Australian Shepherds, Charlie and Bravo. On weekends or holidays, the whole family—pups included—often go traveling or hiking. Recently, during one family vacation, Dr. Jordan and his wife trekked 12 miles on a whim carrying their son on their back.
For parents looking to live their healthiest this year, Dr. Jordan recommends focusing on your own mental, emotional and physical health first. That means setting family traditions, spending time together and caring for our bodies.
“I know it sounds selfish, but focus on yourself,” he says. “Families, especially moms and dads, always put their kids first..but kids are not going to be healthy unless their parents are healthy.”
