Kick off fall with eye-catching, Pinterest-worthy table decor!
Fall is here -- what better way to launch the season of pumpkin spice, cool crisp mornings and changing leaves than to update tablescapes. Embody the feelings of fall right onto tables by focusing on centerpieces and color choices. Angela Carter, owner of Mary Tuttle's Flowers and Gifts in Chesterfield, offers up amazing advice when it comes to planning fall table decor.
What size candles, or heights of candles, should be used as centerpieces?
"I like mixing it up with varying sizes of candles, votives and candlesticks. I love incorporating old and new, so using votives and then adding a few special candlesticks from your mother or grandmother is always a great way to make your table unique, while enjoying family treasures."
What are popular color choices for tablescapes this time of year?
"Warm tones give a fall feel...adding a fall arrangement to the table provides a great pop of color and texture, too. If you are going with a neutral palette, add a touch of gold for a simple, but elegant look."
Other tips for creating an art of living, fall tablescape:
- Go shopping around your house first to determine if there is decor in other rooms that can be incorporated into table decor.
- Mix real florals with faux floral arrangements to offset costs.
- Use something unexpected, such as a fall inspired blanket or scarf, as part of the decor.
- Don't be afraid to mix patterns and prints. A fun floral paired with a buffalo plaid goes a long way.
- Keep it cozy. Incorporate a great fall music playlist, or a warm fall scented candle, to fill the air for guests.
