For more than 15 years, fashion-forward residents of Peoria (and beyond) shopped Daniela Jay Boutique. Owner Mariter Torres offered her customers wardrobe tips and hosted fashion shows.
After helping dress people of all ages, shapes and sizes over the years, Torres closed her shop and now offers fashion consulting, personal styling and fashion show production. You can see more of her styling on Instagram at @danielajayfashion.
As the mother of a teenage daughter and pre-teen son, she finds particular joy in helping her younger customers find their personal styles.
“Fashion is always evolving,” says Torres. “Everyone wants to be up-to-date with the latest trends while staying true to one’s self-expression and being comfortable.”
Torres suggests teens create a lookbook to track their favorite outfits for different occasions. Using this list of basic fashion essentials, every tween and teen can build a fashionable yet age-appropriate wardrobe.
