A child leans over a table, carefully writing I love you, Dad. The lines are uneven, the letters imperfect, but that’s exactly what makes it worth keeping. Within minutes, that drawing transforms into an engraved keepsake.

At Artistic Endeavors, gifts are thoughtful, personal, and one-of-a-kind.

“Everything in our store is customizable,” says owner Carey Lynn Zarate. “We want everybody involved. Kids can be part of it. Parents can be part of it. That’s the fun of it.”

Leading up to Father’s Day, the shop is offering hands-on projects for all ages. Younger kids can fill out predesigned pages about what they love most about their dad, while others can create original drawings that are later engraved onto items like keychains, lockets, or other keepsakes. Everyday customizable project materials range from metal and leather to acrylic and glass and naturally include staples for dads, like cigar travel cases, flask sets, hats, and apparel.

While visitors create the artwork, the team handles the technical side, including engraving, pressing, and finishing the piece.

The shop is open Monday–Friday for walk-ins and by appointment, and turnaround times vary from one to two weeks.  Prices for personalized gifts start as low as $10, depending on the item.

Staff are also ready to help visitors know where to start on their custom gift. The process often begins with a conversation.

“We start asking, ‘What does your dad like? What are some things you remember about him?’” Carey says. “When we get the stories, then the gift idea often presents itself.”

In one recent project, children created artwork that was transferred onto cooling towels.
Carey recalls a time when she created an apron for her own father, who answers to both “Dad” and “Papa.” “It says, ‘I have two names…and I rock them both,’” she says. “He wears it all the time.”

In a season often defined by last-minute purchases, the appeal of Artistic Endeavors lies in a more personal gift that creates lasting smiles.
