Crafted with care, the Meridian Chamber of Commerce shapes the Oktoberfest experience for the community. Now in its second year, the event exceeded expectations in 2022.
Guiding this spirited endeavor is the Downtown Committee of the Meridian Chamber of Commerce, led this year by Cecyle Brock, Deja Brew's owner. The Downtown Committee replaces the former Downtown Business Association, now a Meridian Chamber committee. "Led by downtown merchants, the Downtown Committee recognizes the value of festivals like Oktoberfest in uniting residents and visitors in our community's heart," said Sean Evans, President/CEO of the Meridian Chamber.
While rooted in German wedding tradition, Oktoberfest has evolved into a global celebration of camaraderie and cherished German heritage. Delectable cuisine, enticing beverages, and exuberant music and dance set the tone.
Downtown Meridian's two-block area transforms into a dynamic hub, enveloping local eateries, bars, and vendors. Sponsored by First Federal Bank and powered by Prestige Marketing, Oktoberfest captivates with a diverse array of attractions—from spirited music performances to sumptuous culinary delights, engaging games, and more. Streudel eating contests, costume competitions, beer stein holding, keg toss, corn hole tournaments, bratwurst, and beer offerings create a feast for the senses.
Over 100 vendors showcase their unique creations, while live bands on the main stage at 2nd and Idaho Street keep the energy high. Local talents like the Boise Edelweiss Band, Moody Jews, and headlining act Redstone are sure to impress.
