“We’re passionate about finding new and interesting home décor,” says Melissa Maddox. She and her husband, John, left corporate careers behind to move back home to Evans and pursue that passion by launching Vintage Southern Accents. Melissa adds, “We’re excited to be back, serving our hometown.”
“A key part of our business is to introduce collections, which are usually southern-inspired,” says Melissa. “We do a new collection every week or so, and we have something for everyone’s style.”
Melissa categorizes the store as a "vintage-inspired home décor warehouse." She says, “We carry a healthy inventory, and we love many different styles. Most of our pieces are new and reproduction, so they’re good quality but made to look vintage. We do have antiques, but we are very selective about the antiques we bring in.”
John, who primarily manages the warehouse inventory and online order fulfillment, joins Melissa in sourcing. “We buy items that we love, and we make a great team,” she says, “because he buys unique pieces I’d never think of buying. We have a more masculine section in our store where he merchandises his buys that are super interesting, and people seem love it.”
