Our society needs strong, smart, caring business owners who take leadership and community service to heart. One such person is Debbie Harrison.
Debbie grew up in Pico Rivera, California. After moving to Alaska, she met and married Tom Harrison. Debbie and Tom moved to Colorado and together started Visiting Angels. Visiting Angels is an amazing company that is dedicated to helping seniors and families in our community. It is a family of employees and an amazing place to work and be a part of.
Visiting Angels has received “Best of Home Care Leader in Excellence” for seven years, through Debbie’s leadership. Caring for her clients and staff Debbie is intentional about providing excellent care.
Debbie is able to recognize needs and work creatively to solve those needs. One example of this was when she wrote a book to help children and adults recognize the need to protect themselves and pets from prescription drugs. This book shares the message in a creative captivating way to teach the importance of prescriptive drug safety.
Debbie has devoted much of her life to the senior population in the Grand Valley, spending many hours beside loved ones in the hospitals and finding care for them. Among many other volunteer projects, her
service includes the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. You can go to act.alz.org if you would like to learn more and participate in that walk.
The home healthcare community will miss Debbie, as she steps down. We know she will be an active retiree in the community. We're sure she will be enjoying her four grandchildren, and with her amazing spirit, will continue to serve others in our wonderful Western Slope.
