Arizona Theatre Company Settles in at Tempe Center for the Arts

Arizona Theatre Company (ATC) has a new place it’s calling home—the iconic Tempe Center for the Arts (ATC).

“ATC is the state’s official theater company, and as such, brings a high level of excellence to their productions,” says Brendan Ross, deputy community services director, arts and culture, City of Tempe. “The quality of acting, direction, production, and design are all exceptional, and they present many Tony Award-winning artists as part of their season. Similarly, TCA has won numerous awards for its state-of-the-art architecture, and it continues to serve as an iconic hub for arts and culture within our community.”

ATC’s first show at TCA was Neil Simon’s Barefoot in the Park in October, where the audience was “dazzled by the largest set we have ever seen on TCA’s stage,” says Ross.

TCA not only offers a Broadway-size theater but a stunning lakeside location, with windows that showcase a reflecting pond, Tempe Town Lake, and the buttes of Papago Park.

TCA also offers a variety of other shows, from national touring acts to local musicians.

“Theatre brings inspiration, beauty, and entertainment to our lives in so many ways. This is an exciting partnership that we are embarking on together with ATC. It means that we will have more than 80 new shows a year at TCA for people to come enjoy and have a great night out together in one of the Valley’s finest arts venues,” says Ross.
