What Are You Working On?

With Angela Walters

Angela Walters started learned how to quilt from her husband's grandfather. The nine block quilt that they made together still covers her bed but her skills have definitely improved! Now, the owner of Quilting is my Therapy, a fabric, quilting, and notions shop on the Liberty Square, is well known for her free motion machine quilting. She not only quilts, she also teaches classes, writes books, lectures and designs fabric. We caught up with her to see what she's working on right now!

What is inspiring you right now?

I am inspired by layering different fabrics and colors. While I am normally drawn to blues and grays, I am trying to break out of my comfort zone and use some brighter, more vibrant colors.

I've also been playing around with using two colors of thread when quilting. Depending on how the thread twists in the machine, you see a different color, giving the designs a bit of unpredictability.
