What is Reno's Best Kept Secret?

We asked some of Reno’s most ‘in the know’ people to share their favorite local location.

“Press Start Arcade Bar in Midtown! It is me and my wife’s go-to Saturday date spot. They always have the coolest specialty cocktails and have a solid rotation of arcade games/pinball. Always a different, but fun, experience when you go!”

Vince Ruffino, Vice President, Marketing & Communication for the Reno Aces

“In the mornings, you’ll find all types of activity at [Washoe Lake], wild horses, equestrians, anglers, paddle boarders, kayakers and motor boaters, all enjoying the warm water and scenic views of Mt Rose and the Eastern Sierra. If you look to the sky, often you'll see hang-gliders or parasailers riding the warm thermals created by our desert air."

Scott Dunseath, Founder, Home Means Nevada Co.

“For me, Reno’s best-kept secret is House of Mexica, it’s a locally-owned restaurant that serves vegan Mexican food! The owners are incredibly nice, and the food is just amazing... Everything they serve is 100% plant-based and tastes just as good (if not better) as the meat equivalent.”

On our tours, we explore several hidden murals, but one of my favorite secret murals to showcase is the one behind the Nevada Fine Arts building. This mural was created by seven different artists, and each part of it tells a unique story. I love that this mural is tucked away behind the building, so unless you're actively seeking it out or happen to stumble upon that street, you'd never know it's there."
