Happy New Year to all! As we embark on 2026 we are making our goal lists, setting up new gym memberships and creating diet plans after the holiday feasts. With all of our planning sometimes we lose sight of the basics, like self-care. So, we hit the streets to find our what our fellow ‘Renoites’ are making top priority this month.

“I have no self-care habits, that is my active goal! Right now, I am spending a little bit of time crafting with my bud, Amber. It's a great way to be creative with no pressure; no client, no rules, just good fun with a good friend”
Megan O'Reilly, Co-Owner, Pitch Black Printing Co.

“My favorite self-care habit might be cheesy, but it is enjoying watching and supporting my kids. I have three very active kids and knowing that I can be present for them and support their adventures keeps my cup full. I do enjoy reading and listening to autobiographical podcasts that allow me to escape the world of social and human services. Travel is also one of the ways I get to compartmentalize and excel in the work I do.”
Scott Benton, Family Violence Prevention Program Manager with Inter-Tribal Counsel of Nevada

“My favorite self-care habit is snuggling with my dog, Duke. There is nothing like your sweet dog’s kisses after a long difficult day. He’s a lap dog so he forces me to sit down, reset, and relax."
Neoma Jardon, Executive Director, Downtown Reno Partnership
