What else is cooking at Cabinet-S-Top? Medina’s own has opened their kitchen and bathroom showroom to offer cooking classes with Executive Chef, Christine "Chris" Yoke. Chris is the owner of Pastissima!, an Italian pasta shop. She grew up in an Italian family and learned to make all sorts of pasta from a young age, including ravioli, gnocchi, lasagna and so much more. She has also completed the two-and-a-half-year culinary program at Loretta Paganini in Chesterland to became a licensed culinary chef as well as a licensed pastry chef.
“I’ve been cooking for years and just love putting flavors together and coming up with my own stuff,” Chris says. “For me with my pasta shop, it’s going to be lasagna and pasta, a hot service and takeout. People will also be able to buy the ravioli and the sauce and be able to make it at home by themselves. That’s the grand plan!”
Chris had her kitchen redone by Cabinet-S-Top two years ago, which led to Betty, the general manager, asking Chris if she would like to teach cooking demonstrations in the showroom. These small, interactive classes offer a hands-on experience in a fun, relaxed atmosphere.
“With the smaller class sizes, I think people are walking away with a better experience. People like to get their hands in it. Even when I’m teaching, I always say that seeing it and practicing it helps you learn,” Chris says. Because the classes are limited in size, they sell out quickly, so you will want to sign up before it is too late!
