Out Of Love

The Lash Bar's Melissa Watts on What's Important

At The Lash Bar, giving has always been part of the story. What began as a local salon for lashes, brows, and beauty has grown into a community that believes in lifting others—both here at home and around the world.

From day one, the vision was simple: create beauty that gives back. Through The Lash Bar and Melissa’s product line, Hello Darling, proceeds help fund programs that support children, education, and empowerment in places where opportunity is scarce.

“I’ve always believed in acting from love, not fear,” says founder Melissa Watts. “You don’t wait until life feels perfect to give—you just start.”

One of the projects closest to her heart is I Am Zambia, where daily school meals help children stay in class and focus on learning. When Melissa first visited, she turned an empty classroom into a small salon to teach beauty skills—and quickly noticed many of the students were coming to school hungry. Providing food became the simplest, most powerful change. Now three years later, those same kids are thriving, staying in school longer, and smiling brighter.

Over the years, The Lash Bar family has supported missions in Ghana, Mexico, Belize, Cambodia, Colombia, Ethiopia, Ecuador, Ukraine, and Zambia, joining teams that build homes, restore vision, and create sustainable sources of income through projects like brick-making and farming.

Melissa says the most rewarding part isn’t the trips or the photos—it’s the ripple effect. “I used to keep quiet about this work, but I’ve seen how sharing it encourages others to do something—start a project, donate, volunteer, or just show more love in their daily lives. That’s what really matters.”

Every appointment, every product, and every boutique purchase helps fund something bigger. “Together, we’re proving that beauty isn’t just about how we look—it’s about how we show up for others.”
