When it comes to cutting-edge eye care, you’ll want to see someone you trust.

Of the five senses, sight is the one humans rely on the most. So much of our daily lives revolve around visual stimulation, but we don’t always realize how important our eyesight is until it changes or starts to fail. Having an eye doctor you trust is important because whether it’s astigmatism, farsightedness, nearsightedness, or something more serious, knowing a provider is knowledgeable and has cutting-edge technology can help ease medical worries.

Fort Worth Eye Associates was established 40 years ago by Dr. William Ranelle. When he retired in 2017, his daughter, Dr. Ann Ranelle, took over the practice. Dr. Tyler Moore joined the team shortly after, and together, they are proud to offer the same level of professionalism and care patients have known for decades. “Families have been coming to the practice for multiple generations, and they still do,” says Dr. Ranelle.

Fort Worth Eye Associates serves the entire family—kids and adults—and cataract surgery is the main treatment offered to patients. While some people are born with cataracts, and others get them from physical injury or chemicals, for the most part, it is a part of the natural aging process; the benefits of having the procedure to fix this common issue far outweigh any negatives (like recovery time), as it improves vision and quality of life.

In hopes of bringing even better results to their patients, Dr. Ranelle and Dr. Tyler Moore have recently introduced the latest advancement in cataract surgery—the RxSight™ Light Adjustable Lens. The Light Adjustable Lens is made from a photosensitive material that changes the shape and power of an implanted lens in response to ultraviolet (UV) light. What makes this different from traditional intraocular lenses is that patients can make choices about their vision after surgery. During a month of follow-up appointments, patients are presented with various vision outcomes and can decide what works for their daily life requirements. The post-surgery light treatments are non-invasive, painless, and last for just 90 seconds. Even better, the healing time is about the same as traditional cataract surgery.

As even more proof the Light Adjustable Lens is a game changer in the field of cataract surgery, a recent clinical study showed a majority of patients who opted for the procedure achieved 20/20 vision or better within six months without the aid of glasses.

You’ll find Fort Worth Eye Associates at 5000 Collinwood Avenue, just off the red bricks of Camp Bowie Boulevard. As a bonus, there’s an optical shop—Camp Bowie Optique—within the office for patients’ convenience.
